What You Will Achieve
As an Associate Scientist, you will be at the center of our operations and you'll find that everything we do, every day, is in line with an unwavering commitment to quality. You will be performing the routine maintenance of multiple types of equipment, required to support vaccine development and clinical studies within the high throughput clinical testing (HTCT) Automation functional area. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, periodic equipment maintenance, analyst training, instrument qualification, authoring standard operating procedures (SOPs) and assisting in the preparation of equipment validation documents. May train and become proficient in basic programming of robotic workstation custom methods (as assigned), and/or assist in scheduling/coordination daily jobs/tasks. Work is to be done in a compliant manner according to applicable SOPs and cGxP guidelines, as required. Your strong foundation in general scientific practice, its principles and concepts will help in meeting critical deadlines. You will be relied on as a technical contributor to assess the assigned tasks and make decisions that involve direct application of your knowledge.

How You Will Achieve It
- Performs routine or non-routine maintenance on multiple types of complex assay equipment, to support vaccine development and clinical studies.
- Completes required documentation for laboratory work, including equipment maintenance forms and/or LIMS. This includes review of equipment maintenance data and equipment qualification documents.
- Trains other analysts on established, basic technologies that he/she has become proficient, as assigned.
- Executes qualifications and validations of new instruments and liquid handler custom methods, respectively.
- Authors equipment related SOPs, equipment qualification protocols, testing of liquid handler methods and assisting in the preparation of robotic validation documents.
- May train and become proficient in basic programming of liquid handler workstations (as assigned).
- Exercise and build basic team effectiveness skills {e.g., commitment, feedback, consensus management} within the immediate work group.
- Perform job responsibilities in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices/ Good Laboratory Practice (cGMP/GLP) and all other regulatory agency requirements.
- Assist in ordering supplies from internal inventory and prepare reagents/supplies necessary for equipment maintenance.
- Stay current on all departmental and corporate training.
- All other job duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Bachelor's Degree in life Science
- Laboratory experience in a relevant field of science
- Strong attention to detail and ability to collaborate and work in team environment
- Good Computer skills including word processing, Excel, PowerPoint and relevant scientific software
- Be able to lift boxes, walking between labs, ability to perform mathematical calculations
Nice-to-Have
- Pharmaceutical and biotech drug discovery experience
- Knowledge of Luminex technology and other lab equipment experience
