The Medical Technologist will perform various high-complexity clinical laboratory tests, optimize, and troubleshoot procedures, and analyze results. The position will be principally responsible for conducting fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) assays to detect aneuploidy in sperm and bladder cells. Our developed FISH assays involve multi-day wet-bench processing of samples and slides, setting up slides on an automated multi-channel fluorescent imager for high-throughput image acquisition, and performing visual analysis ("classification") of acquired images to quantify ploidy of cells to determine whether patient samples are normal or abnormal.
